Pure Vermont Maple syrup’s nutritional value is a far healthier choice than other common sweeteners, such as honey, sugar, and even brown sugar. The amount of calories in maple syrup are much lower than corn syrup and honey, averaging about 50 calories per tablespoon. They also contain many other benefits of using them than other sweeteners. They contain many antioxidants as well as known to help fight many adverse health problems. See fig to left.
